What is Hot Skull Season 1 about?

In the first episode of this new series, we are introduced to a world 8 years after the initial outbreak of a deadly virus called the “semantic virus”. This contagious mental disorder spreads through speech from one ear to another. Colloquially called “Jabbering”, the infected basically rattle off a bunch of random words together and infect their hosts, sending them into a crazed state of panic. ..

The entire system collapsed and the world allowed the AEI to take over, breaking up areas into different zones to try and contain the virus.

The series is exploring the relationship between patient Zero and the Jabbering virus. Nicknamed “Hot Skull” the longer the series progresses, Murat finds himself inexplicably immune to the effects of Jabbering.

As a result of this, Anton and the shady Fazir, take a particular interest in him, wanting to bring Murat in as he may be the key to coming up with a cure. As for Murat, he ends up on a quest of his own, teaming up with a woman called Sule whilst tracking down a key figure called Ozgur.

Has Hot Skull been renewed for season 2?

Netflix has not renewed Hot Skull for a second season. If it does well on the streaming service, that could change. ..

Netflix typically gauges numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. ..

Hot Skull is a new, dark and suspenseful science fiction novel by Jeff VanderMeer. It has had a mixed reaction from audiences and critics alike, with some lamenting the inconsistent worldbuilding and slow pace at times.

Given the way this show is set up, there’s definitely potential for a sequel. There’s a lot baited there for a more expansive second season. We predict that this will be renewed for a second season.

We’ll be sure to keep this section updated with accurate information over the coming weeks and months, as we learn more.

What we know about season 2 so far:

Netflix has not green-lit a sequel to season 2 of “House of Cards”, but there is a very good case for another to follow. Season 1 was very well-made and had a lot of potential, but it was unfortunately cut short. If Netflix decides to make another season, they should do it in a way that is more story-driven and less political.

The finale sees Murat learn that Sule is actually working with Fazir and could well be a mole in their ranks. That’s particularly bad news for our characters, who are determined to find a cure for the jabbering. ..

We predict that this will be renewed, but we’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known.
