10 – Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster
The graphics have been updated and look much better than ever before. The textures are also much more realistic, making the game look more like a living, breathing world. The frame rate has been improved as well, making the game feel smoother and more responsive. Additionally, there are new features added to the game that make it even more enjoyable. These include a new battle system that’s based on magic instead of physical attacks, an all-new story mode with over 100 hours of content, and a new set of tools that allow you to customize your party members in ways never before possible.
Final Fantasy VI is a great game to play again, as it has been remastered slightly and the graphics have been given a slight uptick. It’s still as enthralling and enjoyable as it was all those years ago, and if you’ve never played it before this is the best iteration to jump into!
9 – Pokémon Legends: Arceus
The game is a follow-up to the 2010 game, Pokémon Legends: Hoenn. It’s a new take on the classic Pokémon games, with all new features and mechanics. Players can choose to play as one of five different characters, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. They can also team up with other players in online multiplayer mode to take on challenges or complete goals together.
The new game is a great return to the roots of the series, with a fresh world to explore and plenty of Pokémon to catch again. The gameplay is still very similar but feels distinctly original and exciting, with plenty of tweaks to key mechanics like catching Pokémon, Pokémon battles and even simply traversing the world. Of course, that comes with its own challenges but given the big leap Gamefreak took with Arceus, especially given the previous 2D entries, this one deserves credit for pushing the series forward in a meaningful way.

In 2022, Guerrilla Games releases their long-awaited sequel, Horizon: Forbidden West. This game is beautiful with expanded lore and a pretty good story. The platforming still needs some work and Aloy’s constant chatter can be game-breaking. ..
There’s been a lot of improvement and care put into the game’s fighting mechanics - which is still its biggest draw. We’ve had some great Indie games over the years, but Stray is definitely one of the more unique experiences out there. It takes the best parts of games like Limbo and Untitled Goose Game, and then blends them together with a simple but effective gameplay pattern.
