When Alex Met Bruno Icarus’s Wings Bringing Up Baby Begin the Beguine All Hearts Come Home for Christmas One Degree of Seperation Five Minutes Before the Countdown The Red Thread
Smiley is a hilarious, heartwarming and emotional romcom that takes all the usual tropes you’d expect and transports them into an LGBTQ+ series that’s an absolute must-watch.
The show is incredibly funny and right on the money throughout its entire run. However, it also knows when to pull the rug on its comedy and focus more on the emotional content of its characters. This makes for a truly unique and engaging experience that you won’t want to miss.
The show is simple, but the characters are memorable. When Alex sends his latest one night stand a smiley face emoji in the morning, the lack of a reply sends him into an angry rant.
Alex sends a voicemail to Lolo’s phone, letting him know how he feels. Only, it’s not Lolo’s phone. He has the wrong number. The number in question belongs to hopeless romantic Bruno. A man who spends most of his time watching romcoms and wanting to find “the one”, he and Alex immediately hit it off on the phone and meet for a blind date.
The show follows the story of two young people, who are in love with each other but can’t seem to get along. From the very beginning, things don’t go as planned and they quickly realize that the universe is conspiring against them. From forbidden kisses to both characters getting involved in separate romances, the drama does an excellent job capturing their conflicted feelings throughout the 8 episodes. ..
The cast of “Love on the Spectrum” includes a number of unforgettable players who are struggling with their own romantic issues. Javi, a transgender man, is looking for his perfect partner, while Albert and Nuria, a married couple, have marital problems they need to try and work through. ..
Alex and Vero are friends, and Alex is also in a relationship. Vero is considering whether to move away from her girlfriend, Patri, and leave things on a precarious knife edge. ..
Each of these relationships brings something new to the fold and seeing the way these transpire over the course of the season will keep you watching until the end.
This creative use of visuals is particularly impressive, as it allows the reader to follow the characters’ thoughts and feelings in a way that is both visually stimulating and informative.
The tone of this film is light and happy, with a touch of sadness thrown in for good measure. It’s a refreshing change from the more serious holiday films out there, and I can see why it’s been so successful. The humour is strong and the story is engaging, making for an enjoyable watch.
Smiley is a well-written and wonderfully produced romcom. It’s very tropey and not particularly original, but hey, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it right? And Smiley purrs like a well-oiled machine from start to finish. The journey may be familiar, but it’s one you’ll definitely want to jump into before the year is up. ..
