Netflix’s Summertime is a series set during the summer and it features some of the best shows on the platform. The show is set in a small town in England and it follows the lives of its residents. The show is full of action, adventure, and comedy. It’s perfect for fans of summertime and anyone who wants to have a good time.
The first 8 episodes of Summertime were a lot of fun, but the writing was terrible. This season, the writing is even worse, with characters flipping between two different states throughout the season. I don’t think I’ll be watching anymore.
With the return of Ale, the dynamics of the relationship between Summer and Edo are put into question. Will they be able to work together to get through this difficult time or will their differences continue to overshadow their relationship?
As Summer and Ale start to develop a romantic relationship, the other characters in the show begin to follow suit. This love triangle encapsulates the entire season and is a cliche that is often found in romance stories.
Dario, a delivery driver, falls for a customer while working as a delivery driver. He is called “MILF” and later known as Rita. Dario struggles with his conflicted emotions while working with her.
Sofia and Irene are having a rough patch as Irene’s ex comes back into the fold. This leads to a fair amount of drama, which inevitably extends out to Summer too. Despite being Summer’s best friend, Sofia feels like she’s on the periphery in favour of Summer’s love triangle antics. This leads her to begin questioning her own feelings, which basically sums up her arc across these 8 episodes.
The story could be condensed down to 8 episodes and it would still be a great show. The montages could be shortened and the focus would be on the main characters.
The first season of this teen drama was a bit of a letdown. The problems were exacerbated by the show’s lack of conviction around any of its stories. However, the finale gave the show some life, but it still needed more than just a few episodes to make me want to watch it again. The second season was much better, but there are still some issues that need to be addressed.
Summertime is a forgettable teen drama that does nothing more than the same old things. It’s not particularly interesting or exciting, and it doesn’t deserve to be renewed for a second season.
