Hallo, Spaceboy

But first, he has a few words to share with the audience. “I’m here to talk about something that I believe in, and that I think will change the world. And that is the power of technology.” He pauses for a moment, looking around at the excited faces in the room. “I know it might seem like a crazy idea at first, but I believe that with technology we can do amazing things. We can make our world a better place, and we can do it faster than ever before.”

As the police start to take him into custody, they notice that he has a large hole in his chest. They ask him what happened and he tells them that he was reborn and stepped out of the large hole in the ground. He then says that he’s seen things that are very strange since his rebirth and that he needs to be careful because people might think he’s crazy. The police are shocked to find out that Faraday is actually sane and they take him into custody.

Los Alamos is a small town in New Mexico, and on the night of October 3, 2017, police were called to the scene of a disturbance. When they arrived, they found an alien who was apparently confused and agitated. The alien was tased and then taken into custody. Faraday woke up later that night in the police station, where he found clothes that had been taken from the morgue. The noise around him was overwhelming; it’s unclear what happened to the alien after he was taken into custody. ..

As the officer approaches, Faraday continues to act strangely. He claims to be from a hot planet called Anthea and again drinks a lot of water. There’s amusement in the way Faraday composes himself and the name he adopts turns out to be the officer he’s talking to - Katie Faraday. ..

Justin Falls is a woman who can help. She’s an expert on energy and has a lot of knowledge about the strange things that happen in the world of energy. Justin is also very friendly and helpful, so she’s perfect for any situation you might find yourself in. If you’re looking for someone to help you with your energy problems, then Justin Falls is the perfect person for you.

Justin is having a tough day. Her boss is a jerk, bills are piling up, and her father’s medication is going to cost a fortune. However, when she gets home from work she gets a call from Katie telling her that Faraday wants her to come in. ..

When Justin arrives, Katie is sceptical and more than a little freaked when he begins quoting her graduate thesis. Faraday leaves, naturally, while Katie walks out the station and somehow manages to spew up a whole bunch of gold rings in order to get himself some money.

Faraday is a genius with electronics and after putting some music on, he sets to work making an antenna of sorts. He’s trying to communicate with his family back home, but he’s not sure if he’s doing it the right way.

In a dramatic turn of events, Faraday takes Katie’s advice and shouts loudly and curses the pawnbroker as he obtains 25,000 for those rings. As he heads outside and looks up at the sky, he sees flashes back to his home planet, Anthea.

Justin Faraday, a self-proclaimed “geek” and recent college graduate, was out walking his dog when he was mugged by three men. The men took everything he had on him, including his phone and wallet. Justin passed by a truck driving by and the driver stopped to help. The driver, Justin’s friend, Thaddeus, was able to talk the robbers into letting Justin go and then drove Justin to the hospital. Justin and Faraday are on their way to a site that they hope will help save the planet. However, Faraday is worried about the time they have left and he wants to make sure that he can return home safely. Justin has two children waiting for him if he is to return home, so it is important that they get this transaction done as quickly as possible.

Faraday and Justin eventually make it to Shiprock, where Faraday claims that Justin is key to his survival and the survival of everyone on Anthea. Justin is spooked, and even more so when he almost breaks her car door handle open. After pulling a gun on him, she takes off and drives away. ..

An intense dust storm engulfs the city, and a mysterious figure walks into its center. Suddenly, they are transported to a forest, where they see flashes of a woman named Anthea. Bill Nighy tells them that he is going to become the God they can’t ignore, and this seems to be a cryptic riddle for the scenes in the present, which we saw at the start of the episode. ..

The Episode Review

The show starts out strong with some great laugh out loud jokes and a well-paced story. However, I found the adaptation of the novel to be a bit too similar to the film for my liking. The show does manage to establish some interesting social ideas though, so overall I’m giving it an 8 out of 10.

The biggest news to come out of the Star Trek panel at San Diego Comic-Con was the return of Alex Kurtzman as showrunner. This comes as a bit of a surprise, given that he left after season two. However, he has since been working on Star Wars: The Force Awakens and is now back on Trek. Of course, the real kicker here is the writing, which happens to come right from Alex Kurtzman. Undoubtedly, there will be two reactions to this new. An indifferent shrug from some and a big groan from others. Personally, I fall into the latter category, given some of the sloppy writing in Trek over the year. However, let’s judge the show based on what we’ve got. The show is starting off well, with all the usual cryptic chatter and mystery box shenanigans being in play. It’s amusing to find the meta idea of a literal mystery box being used to showcase this mystery; the show isn’t even being subtle about this either!

The show’s diversity is good and certainly welcome, while the series has – so far at least -actually done a good job writing parallels to race relations and brief glimmers of climate change interwoven into the story. However, we’ve seen how on-the-nose Kurtzman’s writing can be when it comes to these topics, so let’s wait and see what happens. For now though, a pretty good opening chapter.
