The Eye

But as the Dhani begins their ritual, Cassian and his team are able to see the true threat. The Dhani are using their power to create a powerful force that can crush any who stand in its way. If they can get close, they will be able to do terrible things to those who oppose them.

Vel and Taramyn head to the base, where they are met by Cinta and her family. Vel explains that he was a stormtrooper before joining this resistance, which explains why he likes giving orders. His arrival though didn’t go down too well with Cinta, especially as her whole family were slaughtered by troopers in the past.

Lieutenant Gorn watches as the Dhani approach, and he is careful to greet them. The soldiers stand at attention and watch the Dhani as they enter the base. Gorn stays with Cassian and the others, who join in welcoming the Dhani. ..

As the quartet wait, Taramyn has experience with this as Vel sneaks in from the water. ..

Cinta and Vel try to get into the payroll vault at the air base, but they can’t get through the security code. They need to find someone who can help them get into the vault. Cinta and Vel turn to their friend, Jayhorn, for help. Jayhorn is a man in charge at the air base and he knows how to get around security.

Vel calls his bluff, claiming that everyone will die – including his wife and son -if he doesn’t play ball. Time is of the essence and using Jayhold as a hostage, they head down to take control of the bridge and base. ..

With only 14 minutes to get into the vault before their window out of there is gone, Cinta stays behind with the hostages and Jayhold is escorted with the group through to the hangar in order to grab the ship, which is obviously their ticket out of there.

It turns out that Jayhold was lying when he said the group had access to the payroll. The Empire hacked into their radio channel and infiltrated their signal, which allowed them to steal the money. Although they should have known this, they didn’t take the opportunity to fix the flaw in their plan.

The group of rebels manage to fly out of the base and into space, where they see a beautiful galaxy waiting for them. They are excited to explore it and find new planets to live on.

Nemik is badly injured when some of the packages smash into his legs and crush him. Vel gives the guy a med-spike to calm him down, while Skeen and Vel join Andor as he flies through to safety. They’ve done it! ..

The group manages to make it through, while Cinta casually walks away from the base. The rest of the group manage to find a remote doctor who begins working on Nemik. While they do, Skeen and Andor talk outside. Skeen suggests they enact a ruse together and split the money, 40 million each. ..

Andor pulls out a gun and shoots Nemik dead, just as he’s about to die himself. This causes Andor to panic and bargain with Vel, telling her he wants a air cut of credits and will leave with them now. Andor is rattled by Nemik wanting him to have his manifesto, but he reluctantly takes it all the same and leaves. ..

The news of what happened on Aldhani spreads across the galaxy, with different reactions from the two galactic powers. Luthen chuckles while the Imperials prepare to hit back.

The Episode Review

After a lot of buildup, we finally get a strong episode of Andor that finally gets Star Wars. I’ve said before that this is the sort of show crying out for more than one episode a week, and I can’t help but feel on a second watch through, this is going to feel much stronger as a binge-watch.

Despite some flaws, there are a lot of good things about this plan. I’m not sure why the group didn’t expect their ex-Imperial radio to be infiltrated, but that seems like an obvious thing to try and overcome. The effort they went into to act like Imperial soldiers is impressive. ..

The Empire in this series is not just evil; they are flawed, but they are also interesting. The men and women in the empire are not just evil, but they have dreams and goals. This is a show you can look forward to every week.
