A Rag, a Bon, a Hank of Hair
Margot is considering her next move with the kids when she gets a call from her husband. He tells her that they’ve found their boat and are coming back to get them, but Margot is hesitant. She’s worried about what will happen if they’re caught and brought to the police. She decides to take the kids with her and leave for good.
Meanwhile, Margot and Dina discuss their plan to sink the trawler. They believe that their father knew what they were up to, but is keeping it a secret. Margot lashes out at him for trying to keep them together and make a home.
Margot has a plan. Dina calls her a victim (although she’s actually a terrorist, given she killed someone with a bomb, let’s not forget that). It’s dangerous but Margot uses Dina to help her. Part of this includes Margot getting onboard a boat unseen.
Charlie’s decision to take the camera with him on his next hunt is met with mixed reactions from the family. His sister, Allie, is confident that Charlie will be okay, but her brother, Charlie, is worried about what could happen if poachers catch up to him.
Margot eventually makes it to the boat when the trawler returns, and immediately gets on the phone, contacting Washington DC, and specifically JJ Raban, asking for assistance. She wants full immunity for her and the children in exchange for handing over Allie. She’ll get her life back, before she was a terrorist presumably.
While the family is sleeping, Dina and Alfonso go to a cave to watch an old movie. They end up kissing and as night falls, all of the family are asleep with secrets between them. Margot is about to sell out Allie and there’s no one to stop her. ..
The Episode Review
There’s no plot development here at all. There’s a tepid romance between Alfonso and Dina alongside more idiocy from Charlie, who continues to show what a liability he is to the family.
JJ’s call-out of Margot’s hypocrisy is a good thing because I’m not seeing how she’s the hero in all of this. She’s basically a terrorist at this point and partly responsible for the whole family being on the run. She straight up killed someone and while she wasn’t directly responsible, it ended up as an accident. Anyone could have been walking past that building when it blew. ..
Mosquito Coast is latest episode and it seems like the upcoming chapters can improve as this felt like a bit of a redundant chapter.
