A serial killer and a socially awkward woman meet in a K-drama. The serial killer starts to feel something for the woman, but she is not sure what to do with her feelings. The story follows their interactions as they try to figure out what is going on in their hearts. ..

Someone is a dating app designed to help people find their perfect match. But when a serial killer starts using the app to hunt and kill his victims, the app quickly becomes a target of terror. Kim Sum, an app developer, must use all of her skills to try and stop the killer before he destroys everything she’s worked for.

Kim Sum investigates the murder of women using her app and finds that it is difficult to catch the killer.

K-dramas can be dark and delve into deep disturbing minds of evil people but what sets Somebody apart is eroticism. If you are an avid K-drama watcher these scenes might be a bit jarring. It is not your typical K-drama where the leads hold hands in episode 7 and kiss in episode 10. Be prepared to see more of Kim Young Kwang than you bargained for. He effortlessly pulls off this twisted character, proving his acting range is unmatched.

This dark thriller by Kang Hae Lim is amazing and features an amazing performance from Kim Sum. It is not what we have seen her in the past, but she gives a great performance that makes it look easy to appear expressionless.

The show has some inconsistencies in its decisions, which makes it difficult to follow. For example, Yeong Gi-eun is a cop and should know better than to meet a stranger alone, but the series keeps making choices that seem like they don’t make much sense. We’re left wondering why some things are done and others aren’t, and at some point we just want to scream at the screen “Why?”

The show is a thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. The Bonnie and Clyde aspect of the show is thought-provoking. It will make you wonder how far you would go to be with someone who completely understands you. When it comes to love, where exactly is the line between right and wrong? Where can our fears drive us to? Do we all have darkness in us? ..

Don’t be fooled by the online dating scene. It’s full of people who are looking for love, but there are also a lot of people out there who will hurt you if you’re not careful. Be sure to use caution and stay away from those who seem too good to be true.

It is refreshing to see queer representation in a K-drama without the typical aloofness that follows in most dramas. Mok won and her girlfriend are depicted as a normal couple and we get to see them being close and touchy with each other. Their relationship is shown for what it is, instead of subtly being alluded to. This K-drama is different and that is a good thing, as it has its own allure. If you are not one to stomach deeply disturbing scenes, you should probably mentally prepare yourself before watching it.
