The 1997 Polish flood was caused by a combination of natural disasters and human error. The floods were caused by heavy rains that fell in the area in late 1997 and early 1998. These rains caused rivers to overflow their banks, which in turn created large amounts of water. This water then flowed into small valleys, where it pooled and became high enough to cause flooding.

Netflix has released a six-part series called “The Making of the American Revolution” that takes an artistic vision to the real events that took place at the time. The series looks at how different artists created pieces of art that reflected the political and social changes taking place during the Revolutionary War.

The show centers on three different characters, although the primary focus is on Jasmina Tremer, a hydrologist. She’s summoned to the town of Wroclaw to oversee flood procedures, where scientists – including Professor Jan Nowak – are joined by the Mayor (our second character) and acting province governor Marczak (the third focal figure), as they weigh up the pros and cons of the impending disaster about to strike. Jasmina Tremer, a hydrologist from Wroclaw, Poland is called in to help with preparations for an impending flood. The town’s scientists - including Professor Jan Nowak - along with Mayor Marek and acting province governor Marczak must decide whether or not to evacuate people before the flood hits. ..

The showrunners have done a great job of creating a world that feels like it’s right out of a Scandinavian crime novel. The first few episodes are especially strong in this regard, with some interesting plot devices and interesting characters. However, the final episode feels contrived and forced, despite having a good deal of closure.

The showrunners have clearly put a lot of thought into this, and while the action is intense, it’s also well-paced and well-written. There are some great suspenseful moments, but there’s also plenty of political intrigue and debate to keep viewers engaged. However, despite the high-quality writing and action, the series does not quite live up to its billing as an action-packed thriller.

The production blends fact and fiction well, with real life characters turned into fictional ones with interesting backstories and intriguing subplots. This is more of a character-driven ensemble, thankfully avoiding soap opera territory. ..

High Water is an interesting show with some flaws. It could have used fewer episodes to tell its story, and more focus on the drama would have helped. ..

High Water is a Polish drama that is decent. If you’re a fan of disaster dramas, this should be right up your alley. It’s certainly not going to ignite the small screen anytime soon, but it’s not bad for an evening or two’s entertainment.
