Lee El is the eldest daughter of a high-ranking government official. She has spent a lot of her time travelling back and forth between Seoul and Sanpo village because of her job. She has a lot of issues in her life and is desperate to find love.

Mi-Jeong is the youngest of five siblings and has always been an introverted person. She feels lonely and unfilled in her life, and decides to take a break from her family to go on a journey. Mi-Jeong travels around the world, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. She eventually finds herself in Korea, where she meets a man named Park. Park is a very successful businessman and he seems to be the perfect match for Mi-Jeong. However, Mi-Jeong is still shy and introverted, which makes it difficult for her to get close to him. Eventually, they break up because she can’t handle being around someone who isn’t like her.

Yeom Chang-Hee, the middle child, wants to leave his childhood home in Sanpo. He is the black sheep of the family and doesn’t really have a dream. Chang-Hee is determined to find his own path in life and break away from his family’s tradition of being content with their station in life. ..

Mr Gu tells Yeom Mi-Jeong that he has been living in a world of shadows for years and that he knows something about the disappearances of people in the city. He says that there is someone who can help her find her family. Yeom Mi-Jeong is hesitant at first, but decides to go along with Mr Gu’s request. She meets him at a bar and agrees to help him find her family.
