The Professor has been caught in a big car chase by the police. It’s touch and go for a while, as the chase spills out into the fields. The Professor eventually manages to get away, burning his car and slipping into the river, swimming downstream and evading the officers.

Meanwhile, inside the Mint, we cut to the moments where Chulwoo was about to fire on Tokyo. It turns out neither he nor Tokyo fired. It was Berlin, who shoots the man dead, having earlier choked out Rio and broken free. The others are shocked, especially when they show up and see what’s happened. ..

What does Woojin plan to do?

Woojin returns to the police station to confront Cha about what’s happened while she was off searching for this car. Cha admits that he suspected her until he noticed how angry and frustrated she is. He tells Woojin that the criminals could well have originally targeted her, which we know to be true.

Woojin now knows that The Professor isn’t in the Mint, and that the group is concerned with public opinion - something she intends to exploit. ..

What do Anne and Youngmin plan together?

Anne and Youngmin decide to try and write a message to Woojin when she comes in for the inspection. Anne scribbles the message on one of the bank notes, which Youngmin reads.

Woojin heads inside the Mint, meeting Berlin who happens to have his mask removed. He even shakes her hand too. Each of the hostages are brought out one by one.

Tokyo immediately susses out what Anne is doing, and confronts her in the hallway. Anne tries to explain that she just wanted to send a message, but Tokyo doesn’t believe her. She orders Anne to leave, and the officer escorts her out.

What is Woojin’s plan? How does she try to oust Berlin and the others?

Woojin eventually sends all the hostages out together when he loses patience. He checks everyone off and then brings up Chulwoo.

This was all part of Woojin’s plan to catch them off-guard, intending to do this on camera and out of the Professor’s grasp so he can’t control traffic. Anne senses an opportunity and immediately mentions how she’s seen Chulwoo. Youngmin also speaks up, because he does!

Berlin argues that the police broke their promise to release all of the students, but Woojin pleads with them to release some as a compromise. ..

This is a key part of the operation, and something that sees Berlin forced into making a big decision… or does he? It turns out Chulwoo is actually still alive and he’s brought out before shocked reactions from everyone. What the group have actually been hiding is not his death, but that he’s still alive. It turns out he was wearing a bulletproof vest this whole time!

What does the Professor have planned?

The Professor knew about Woojin’s plan all along and used it to his advantage. With the CCTV footage obtained and given as an anonymous tip, they oust Chulwoo as a rogue agent acting with hostility and messing up the carefully constructed plan in place.

Berlin vowed to the cameras he would not let anyone die on his watch, and the reporters immediately spun this in his favour. ..

Police in the city of Detroit have been using hostages as human shields in order to prevent the public from seeing their operations. This has backfired, as the group managed to escape and now they will be out in three days. ..

Not everyone is full of optimism and hope though, as Denver realizes this may be the last time he sees Misun. Denver encourages her to date a good guy in the future, but Misun turns the tables and decides she’s going to quit the Mint and kisses him, as the pair end up making love.

What happens with Captain Cha?

Captain Cha is fired from his role as lead investigator on the Mint case after evidence points to Park Sunho as the perpetrator. Despite this, he will continue investigating on his own and focus on finding Professor. ..

Woojin is a very interesting person. He’s not your average guy, and the Professor knows it. He starts to get really close to Woojin, and the two of them start to drink a lot. The Professor starts to feel like he’s in love with Woojin, and he doesn’t know how to tell Woojin. Eventually, they get drunk and walk home together. The Professor encourages Woojin to rest up, but at this moment, the Professor realizes that he’s falling in love with Woojin.

How does episode 6 of Money Heist: Korea end?

Woojin, a detective with the taskforce, checks her coat pocket and notices a piece of the bank note from inside the Mint. It turns out Anne actually managed to stash it there before she was taken away. Realizing this could be a really important clue, she hurries back to the taskforce.

Captain Cha greets the Professor as he returns home. ..

The Episode Review

This series is interesting because it’s going in a different direction from the original Spanish series. There are a few references to the original script that confirm this, and the show is stronger for it.

Although the focus has been on making money and smuggling it out, everything else is going according to plan. ..

This remake of “The Handmaid’s Tale” has been praised for sticking closely to the source material, with the idea of a unified Korea being a good one. Berlin has been fantastic and easily the stand-out of this whole show, with Park Hae-Soo delivering charisma and flair. ..

Despite some noticeable changes, the visual flair and tension of Money Heist: Korea largely manages to hold its own against the original. ..

This is an enjoyable thrill ride all the same, with the ending hinting that this second part is going to go in a very different direction moving forward.
