What is Maldivas about?
The rich people in Maldivas are enjoying a season of luxury and relaxation, but they’re not the only ones. We follow several other people as they experience the same things, and their stories are unique and compelling.
Our main protagonists are Milene, Rayssa, Kat and Patricia. They are joined by Liz too.
In the first episode of the show, Patricia is stuck inside her apartment after it is set on fire by an unknown assailant. The end of the episode shows that Patricia herself was killed in the fire.
The murder mystery at the heart of this story is gripping, with several twists and turns over the course of the seven episodes. ..

Has Maldivas been renewed for season 2?
Netflix has not renewed Maldivas for a second season, which is a shame given the ending. There’s definitely room for a sequel, but we now have proper confirmation from Netflix over the future of this Brazilian series. This news is bad news.
Netflix has a number of metrics in place before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate per episode. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars). Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future.
Netflix has decided not to renew the show Maldivas. This is due to the mixed reception the show has had and its lacklustre views.
What we know about season 2 so far:
Netflix has not green-lit a sequel for season 2 of “House of Cards.” It seems like this is the end of the road for our characters unless another network pick this one up. That seems highly unlikely and given the ending is pretty final, we at least get a decent conclusion to send this one off into the sunset!
