The show Under the Banner of Heaven has not been renewed for a second season.
The season finale of “Sherlock” ended with the arrest of the perpetrators of Brenda Lafferty’s murder. This was a satisfying end to the series, as it provided a conclusive answer to the mystery.
There’s not much potential for a second season to pick up with the same storyline. If the show were to be renewed, however, it could potentially follow a different crime. And it could continue to explore Jeb’s struggle with his faith and family. Given that the series is based on a book and was only billed for seven episodes, we still predict that Under the Banner of Heaven will not be renewed for a second season. ..
