Sarah decides to pay for a ‘replacement;’ a clone of herself that will integrate itself into her life and then replace her following her death. She does this because she doesn’t want her mother and partner to be alone after she has gone.

Sarah begins to question the meaning of her own existence after the clone has been created. She wonders if she is really alive or if she is just a machine.

Dual is a thriller that isn’t particularly thrilling and a black comedy that isn’t particularly funny. ..

Dual is still a good movie though, even if it doesn’t fall neatly into one particular genre. Gillan is good in a dual role and the scenes of the two Sarah’s together are rarely unconvincing. Just as Ali’s character regretted being cloned after seeing the effect his double had on his family, Gillan also begins to regret her decision.

Sarah has a miraculous recovery from an illness that had killed her double. She is told that she needs to take part in a court-mandated dual to the death, as only one version of her is allowed to exist. We don’t really know why this is, but like Sarah, we have to accept that this is the way things work in the future.

Sarah decides to take on the dual with the help of Trent, a combat trainer who teaches her all she needs to know about combat and self-defence. His teaching methods swing from traditional fight training to dodgy instructional videos but despite the unhelpfulness of the latter, Sarah still manages to turn herself into a killing machine. However, there is a difference between knowing how to kill and actually doing it, as Sarah discovers when she fails to follow Trent’s orders to kill a dog. As such, it is clear that Sarah might not have what it takes to dispose of the double that has busily been taking over her life.

In a way, the movie is refreshing because it doesn’t rely on traditional battle royale tropes. Instead, it focuses on the characters and their journey to victory. This makes for an interesting story that you won’t forget in a hurry.

Theo James’ performance as dual is a strong start to the film but it quickly becomes clear that he is not the only character with a story to tell. Other actors play important roles in the development of Dual’s story, but their stories are largely left unmentioned or barely mentioned. This leaves the film feeling incomplete and unresolved, despite its strong start.

Dual is a well-made, thought-provoking science fiction film that avoids the flashy visuals and action sequences that are often seen in movies of this type. This may be due to budgetary constraints, but it works in the film’s favour as there is little distraction from the central premise of the story – which is about Sarah and her moral dilemmas. If you’re looking for a movie that’s more about life than action, then you should definitely check out “Dual.” This film is more about Sarah than her doppelganger Dual, as it focuses on her struggles and how she comes to terms with the meaning of her own life. ..

This isn’t a perfect movie. The only character who is particularly likable is the clone, and even then, the development of that relationship is slow and uninteresting. The rest of the characters are cold, dispassionate, and one-dimensional. This might be intentional so I can’t fault the director’s intent if so but the final scenes would have had more impact if we had somebody relatable to root for.

Despite the mixed reviews for Dual, I still think it’s worth seeing. Gillan gives two strong performances and there are plenty of surprises to keep us on our toes. The ending is one that will have people talking long after the closing credits have rolled. If you’re expecting a head-scratcher, you might not enjoy this one, but if you’re looking for a heart-thumping thriller, then Dual is definitely worth checking out.

In a dual ending, the story may have two different endings depending on how the protagonist chooses to act. The first ending is usually the more expected one, but it can also be a surprise. The second ending is often more satisfying, and it can be difficult to guess which one will happen.
