Four Good Days Plot Synopsis
Molly is a drug addict who tries to stay clean with the help of her mother. However, the journey is difficult and full of obstacles. Molly must overcome her addiction, her family, and herself.
The woman manages to stay clean, but there is a bit of mystery surrounding her.
How does ‘Four Good Days’ begin?
Molly, an addict, turns up at her mother’s door asking for help. Deb, Molly’s mother, initially refuses to let her in but after spending the night outside, Molly is able to convince Deb that she is ready to get professional help. ..
Deb takes her daughter to a detox centre in order to help her recover from drug addiction. Molly agrees to take the new medication, but before it can be administered safely, she needs to spend the next four days free of drugs. Deb agrees to take Molly in and support her during this time, but the next four days are difficult for both of them. ..
Is Deb able to help her daughter?
Molly does what she can to offer Deb support, but her job is not an easy one. Deb has taken many steps to keep Molly safe, such as installing a beeper on a door that alerts Deb to Molly’s comings and goings.
Deb is constantly suspicious of everything. She’s especially suspicious of Molly, the girl she babysits. Whenever Molly’s phone rings, Deb assumes it might be a drug dealer and she’s always worried that her daughter might be stealing from her or using drugs again.
Deb and Molly continue to try to look after each other despite the difficult situation, but on the fourth day, Molly decides to stay away from Deb.
What causes the argument between Molly and Deb?
Molly tells her mother that she has had a phone call from the clinic telling her the treatment has been postponed. Deb doesn’t believe her daughter and worries that she might not be serious about breaking free from her addiction problem. ..
Molly tells Deb that she will be back on the morning of the appointment, which is now two more days away.
Does Molly stay clean?
Molly arrives back at her mother’s house on the day of the appointment. However, before they leave to get the treatment, Molly asks Deb for a urine sample. As such, it is clear that Molly hasn’t been able to stay clean. As her own urine sample would demonstrate signs of drug use, Molly’s only hope is to fake her sample with that of her mothers.
Molly has relapsed and told Deb. Deb is understandably distraught and agrees to provide a urine sample to help Molly get help. ..
Does Molly get the treatment she needs?
Molly’s story is an example of how drugs can have serious consequences for someone who takes them. When she was first prescribed the medication, Molly had no idea what it was and had no reaction to it. However, after a few days of taking the medication, she started having a severe reaction to it and went into acute withdrawal. This made her life or death situation because if she didn’t get help soon, she would have gone into a coma.
Does Molly turn her life around?
Four months after the events in the hospital, Molly has successfully completed her treatment and looks much different than she did before. Her appearance is a result of taking medication that helps her stay clean and sober. ..
Molly has turned her life around, although there is a sense of doubt when she tells Deb that she has postponed her monthly treatment injection. This gives her a window to use drugs again but whether she does or not, we never get to know.
“I think Molly is a great example of somebody who has turned their life around,” Wendler said. “She’s doing really well and I’m really proud of her.” In the movie, Molly (played by Emma Roberts) is a teenager who is struggling with her weight and her relationship with her mother. But as the movie is loosely based on the true story of Amanda Wendler, it can be assumed that Molly does turn her life around.
