A Manic, Middling Mess
Avengers: Endgame was a culmination of everything that made the Marvel Cinematic Universe great. It brought together a combination of everything that made the MCU great, producing a natural close to 10+ years of lore, character building and development. This beautifully written and poignant end involving Thanos will forever go down as one of the best moments in cinematic history.
Many wondered what new storylines and adventures the team would embark on, as well as who would be joining them. With the release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” it seems that many of these questions have been answered. The film follows the team as they try to stop Ultron from destroying all life on Earth, and features a number of new characters, including Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. This new lineup seems to be working well so far, with the team defeating Ultron and saving the world in the process. ..
With a new movie set to release in 2019, Marvel is turning its attention to small-screen projects once again. This time, they’re focusing on projects that are more relatable to the average person, such as WandaVision, Loki, Hawkeye and Moon Knight. Each film has its own strengths and weaknesses, but the overall goal is to create a more relatable experience for viewers.
Eternals was a letdown because it tried something new but felt slow, meandering and drawn out.
The film feels like it’s constantly on the move, never really settling down. It’s a frantic, fast-paced experience that never lets up. The action is visually impressive and the characters are interesting, but the film feels like it could use more depth and development.
Doctor Strange is not the star of this movie. The star of this movie is the other people in it. For a long stretch of the movie, there’s a lot of focus on other people.
Wanda is a much more integral part of the film than Stephen Strange. The trailers make it seem like the story is about Strange, when it’s actually about Wanda. It’s important to know what you’re getting yourself into before going to see the film. ..
Doctor Strange and America Chavez are chasing an octopus through different universes when they end up in our reality. The octopus is threatening to destroy Earth, so Doctor Strange and America Chavez team up to stop it. ..
The octopus has been hired by the sorcerer to take out any and all who stand in his way, including America’s president. This means that not only will America be at risk, but so too will the multiverse itself. The sorcerer is a powerful and dangerous figure, and it is up to the octopus to stop him from achieving his goals.
Doctor Strange teams up with the most powerful witch in the world, Wanda Maximoff, to protect America and set the course of the universe straight. However, Strange soon realizes that everything is not what it seems. ..
Doctor Strange and America fall through different realities in search of answers to stop a larger threat that could topple the universe. The big bad is revealed early on in proceedings, and I want to wager a guess that it was about 30 minutes into the film. ..
The play is relentless in its pace, making it difficult to determine how much time has actually passed, the jokes rarely land and the dialogue is often poor. ..
For example, in the scene where the X-Men are fighting Magneto, Professor X says to Cyclops, “I don’t want to see your face,” which is a line from the comics that was cut from the movie. This is an egregious omission and it feels like a cheap way of trying to make fans feel like they’re not important.
In the middle of the movie, a camera lingers on a statue that allows you to read everything it says. The camera pans back to Strange and America who then repeat, word for word, exactly what we’ve just read on the statue. We know, Raimi! We’ve just read that!
The constant use of exposition and lack of development in the screenplay makes it difficult to invest in the characters or their story. ..
No Way Home is a forgettable film that feels like it was made for children. The nostalgia bait is weak and the plot is thin.
I attended a show that someone behind me clapped when a familiar face showed up. 15 minutes later, they said “what was the point?”
In a recent interview with Collider, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that the film’s implications for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe “are very complicated.” He went on to say that Marvel is “very careful not to spoil anything” but given the film’s implications, they feel like they have written themselves into a very messy corner.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most popular and well-known movie franchises in all of entertainment. Fans of the movies and TV shows have been eagerly awaiting new installments for years now, with no signs of stopping. However, some people are predicting that Marvel will not release a new movie for over a year now. This is because they are working on a new project that is much more important. This project is called “Avengers: Infinity War”. This movie will be the biggest and most important in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, and it will have an impact on many other movies and TV shows as well. die-hard Marvel fans and talented Youtubers are going to have an absolute field-day picking this one apart.
The score is forgettable and doesn’t really add anything to the film.
The film’s mood swings are jarring, and the music often distracts from the story’s more important elements.
The visuals in Multiverse of Madness are stunning. The jumps through the multiverse are interesting and the camera shots rotate around to create a unique experience. This is one of the more visually interesting pictures from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The movie had some great cinematography but I felt like it was a distraction from the story.
I felt like I was watching a movie where the main character was constantly punched in the face. The gag is so funny and it really captures how I felt at the end of the movie.
Multiverse of Madness is a rushed, frantic, unfulfilling action flick that doesn’t work. Somewhere out in the multiverse there’s a better version of this film. Unfortunately, the one left in our universe is a manic, messy missed opportunity.
