The story follows Lee Tae as he struggles to keep the kingdom together during a time of turmoil. He must navigate the challenges of being a king, balancing his duties with his family, and trying to maintain peace in a world that is constantly at war.

Yoo Jung, the daughter of a noble family, is in a power struggle at the royal court. Lee Tae thinks of her as his wife and as a result, her family becomes embroiled in a power struggle.
