Episode Guide

Episode 1: The first episode of the show had a mixed bag of reviews. Some people found it to be an interesting show, while others found it to be unoriginal and boring. Overall, the review score was 3 out of 5.

The third season of the Boys is set to start right after the events of season two, and it looks like things are only going to get worse. With Homelander on the loose and Stormfront in disarray, the town is on high alert – and that means business for everyone.

This time around, the tension in the story comes from the heroes’ struggle to contain Homelander’s wrath, which feels like a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode. Or, well, obliterate everyone in a fit of laser-eyed rage. ..

Maeve is determined to take the maniacal “hero” down a peg by any means necessary – even if that means working with unexpected source. She has no qualms about using whatever methods necessary, even if that means breaking the law. This is a woman who has faced many challenges in her life, and she is not afraid to use them to get what she wants.

As the group debates their options, they come to the conclusion that they have to take the drug and use it to stop Supes. However, before they can do anything, they are attacked by Vought. ..

It’s a conflict that’s explored in a lot more detail across the season. These cracks in The Seven and with Butcher and the boys take up most of the run-time for the first 2 or 3 episodes, which is made all the more spicy by the including of Congresswoman Neuman.

In the season 2 finale, we learned that the head-popping Supe and Hughie are working together. They’ve been taking down Supes together off the street, while his relationship with Starlight (which is big news in the public eye) only further riles up Homelander, who finds his popularity dwindling.

After a few episodes, the show changes its tone slightly, with Butcher and the boys heading off to Russia (and back again) on a mission to try and stop Homelander. While I can’t reveal exactly what they’re up to, suffice to say there are some pretty shocking moments along the way. In fact, shock is the key word this season, as The Boys doesn’t hold anything back at all. From a particularly squeamish scene involving The Deep to a little Supe called Termite who gets up to no good, there are some outrageous moments that fans are likely to be talking about for weeks to come. ..

This year, the standout revelation is Homelander. Antony Starr has really stepped up his game and there are some incredibly tense scenes here. One scene involving Homelander in the hallway of Vought, confronting A-Train, is golden and it’s dripping with tension from start to finish. ..

In the 8 episodes of “Homelander,” Starlight and Hughie discuss Homelander’s potential weakness, only to find out he’s been listening in and happens to be on the other side of the room. These moments stand out across the 8 episodes, although everything early on builds slowly, crescendoing into a dramatic final act that sees Homelander meeting his match for the first time in this series.

Last year’s issue of The A.V. Club explored how last-minute changes to the way the college admissions process were affecting students, and this year’s issue looks at everything from the PR personas of colleges to talent shows (which gets a whole separate sub-plot and a pretty surprising ending). Along the way, we’ll also get a look at how PTSD is being explored in more detail.

The third season of The Boys is continuing to be one of the most exciting and thrilling superhero series on television. Antony Starr’s acting is top-notch, and everyone else in the cast brings their best performance for this season. This show is definitely a must-watch!
