Akira is a movie that has had a significant impact on many people in the entertainment industry. While some may argue its source material is better than its film, many adore the movie for its amazing visuals and fluid animation. Likewise, Mob Psycho 100 and Akira are not too different from each other.
Both anime feature esper-themed characters fighting off numerous enemies that pose a threat to them or others. While Mob’s more heroic than Akira’s Tetsuo, these characters tend to snap, causing many people around them to suffer for their uncontrollable antics.
Fans of Akira will find it difficult to look away from the visuals. There’s a lot to take in with this film from its car chase segments to Tetsuo’s utilization of his telekinetic powers. What makes this manga so unique is the protagonist, Eikichi, who establishes a similar mentor and student relationship with his students as Arataka has with Mob. Fans will adore seeing Eikichi become this notable figure in his students’ lives and witnessing their growth alongside his.
