Russell is a young scout who has been following Carl and his wife, Julie, on their journey to South America. He is excited to see the beautiful falls and the amazing wildlife. However, when they arrive at the falls, they find that it is closed for the season. Carl and Julie are disappointed but decide to continue their journey anyway. They eventually reach a small town in Peru where they stay for a while before continuing their journey back home.
This film has a lot of fantastical elements and a dollop of humour, but its themes are enough to make it an easy one to recommend.
Manchester By The Sea
This beautifully written and emotionally charged drama tells the story of a group of people who are struggling to make sense of their lives as they navigate the ups and downs of a difficult period in their history. The flashbacks are particularly powerful, providing a unique insight into the characters’ minds as they try to grapple with what’s happening in their past.

But as he tries to do so, he finds himself in over his head as the family’s finances crumble and their home is sold. With no one to help him, Lee must find ways to make ends meet and provide for his nephew while also trying to keep up with the demands of a life that has been turned upside down.
Lee is forced to adapt to a new life after his brother’s death. He struggles to move on and flashbacks show what happened that made him this way. Manchester By The Sea is a great film. ..

Three Billboards is an interesting and oftentimes emotional exploration into grief, anger and justice. These themes run strongly throughout the show and each character has a good amount of development too. This is certainly one of the newer movies on this list and a worthy inclusion at that. The ending is open to interpretation but given the artistic approach to this movie, it actually works pretty well to round out the story.

Atonement is a film that is incredibly moving and poignant. There are some shocking scenes in it, but they are all skillfully integrated into the main plot line to emulate a series of gut punches. If you’re interested in watching this film, be warned, but it’s definitely worth checking out. ..
